I joined EDF Renewables as a Control Room Supervisor, contributing to the development of operational systems, overseeing marine coordination, and ensuring safe, efficient wind farm operations. Based at the Eyemouth Control Room, I play an active role in both day-to-day supervision and wider process development across EDF-R’s European portfolio.Key Responsibilities:• System Development: Contributed to the rollout of Kraken (Marine Coordination and Permit to Work system), the work order system, and communication systems.• Emergency Response & Marine Operations: Maintaining emergency readiness and ensuring safe, compliant offshore operations.• Regulatory Liaison: Engaging with MCA, HSE, Marine Scotland, and other regulators to uphold compliance.• European Site Engagement: Supporting EDF-R sites across Europe to standardise processes and share best practice.• Control Room Supervision: Managing daily operations at Eyemouth, overseeing wind farm activities and operational readiness.• Stakeholder Collaboration: Working with Operations, Production, and Asset Performance teams to optimise asset integrity.• Team Growth: Recruiting and onboarding new Control Room Technicians, while fostering a safety-first, high-performance culture.• Compliance & Logistics: Ensuring spare parts facility compliance and effective inventory management.• Multi-Role Support: Providing cover for WTSR Operational Controller, Marine Coordinator, and Emergency Response Coordinator.• Leadership & Improvement: Leading the control room team, embedding lessons learned, and driving performance excellence.This role has strengthened my leadership, broadened my expertise in control room management, marine coordination, and emergency response, and enabled me to contribute to EDF-R’s operational and business process development.
