ABOUT THOMAS HEINEN

I am a multi-specialized Consultant for DevOps/Security and Storage. Working with AWS since 2015, I helped many small to enterprise customers on their journey to the cloud, consulting both on the technological aspects and on the challenges of digital transformation.Responsible for multiple product offerings and technologies, I keep in touch with the most recent IT trends and frequent customer challenges in adopting these. As experience shows, just deploying a tech stack for a customer rarely helps anyone. The journey is more about enabling the customers, deciding on a specific approach depending on their needs and knowledge, and helping them maintain their base for the foreseeable future.As a big part of my job relies on networking with (potential) customers and other companies in the same business as us, I am engaged in multiple vendor programs for this (AWS Ambassador/Community Builder, Chef Community Advisory Council, etc.)Due to my new job\'s more organizationally focused responsibilities, I am freelancing on the side as a developer for the Chef.io products. Having been part of core development since 2016, being the only external SME on their exam program, and being responsible for implementing Target Mode (agentless Chef), I am the go-to expert for your complex projects. I am networked with all important people and most developers at Progress Software and talking to them on a weekly basis. If previous Chef.io freelancers let you down. you will be surprised.
