WORK HISTORY
Research Scientist Ii @California Department of Public Health
San Francisco, CA, US
Lead scientist from the California Department of Public Health - Environmental Health Investigations Branch studying harmful algal blooms in California. I primarily analyze and investigate human case reports and assist with the surveillance of any toxic blooms across the state. I communicate extensively with additional HAB monitoring organizations throughout the state and contribute in the maintenance of California’s internal One Health Harmful Algal Bloom dashboard and California’s contributions towards CDC’s National Harmful Algal Bloom Database. Additionally, I am a co-representative for CDPH and California in CDC’s National Harmful Algal Bloom Community of Practice. In the future, I hope to develop a GIS application to help inform the public of harmful algal bloom vulnerability.
