Field supervisor for VCU School of Social Work. Supervise MSW & BSW students in the Public School Setting. While I have supervised a few BSW students, my primary emphasis has been with MSW students, who were/are doing their 2nd-year concentration placement in a school setting. In addition to facilitating the School of SW\'s field requirements, I was/am responsible for teaching all aspects of the role of a School Social Worker. This includes a strong focus on learning Local, State and Federal Special Education policies and procedures. I also place a lot of stock in teaching students the importance of writing effective social history reports \"socials\"(bio-psycho-socials). Of course, it needs to be written well; however, I strongly believe interview process is one of the most important interactions the school social worker has with parents/guardians.
