Started in 1998 responsible for various Safety & IH compliance activities for the Department of Public Utilities (DPU), which employs > 1100+ employees distributed throughout the Department and three Divisions: Power, Water, and Sewerage & Drainage. Currently responsible for traditional Industrial/Utility IH duties with addition of RMPPSM and Hazwoper programs.Previously in same job, 12 years included supervising safety staff and oversight of Department Safety & Health.Experienced in strategic injury reduction plans to lower OSHA incident rates.Have Implemented bi-monthly and annual safety inspections for 12 facilities. Have Implemented internal safety staff & supervisor safety observations process for multiple sites.Have hired 8 employees into the Safety unit since 2005. Documented and tracked safety requests as an ongoing process until requests completed.Implemented various safety training: new hire, OSHA programs, contractors, toolbox talks etc.Had Oversight of general emergency planning, drills, and oversight of 12 site specific safety committees. Oversight of safety staff budget and review of general site safety budgets to ensure sites can pay for required services.Developed Annual Public Utilities Safety Report.Recommend Public Utilities Annual Safety Goals.Support work order system initiative that includes safety work orders
