As Training Manager at Guardians Training, I lead our training department with a focus on supporting staff across sectors who work with some of the UK’s most vulnerable children and young people. My role blends strategy, leadership, and hands-on delivery, ensuring that every course we provide has a meaningful impact.I deliver and oversee a wide range of training including:Safeguarding and child protectionSelf-harm awarenessRRN-certified Restraint TrainingPMVA and de-escalation techniquesFirst Aid (including Paediatric First Aid)Conflict management and resolutionEpilepsy awareness and emergency responseBespoke training built around organisational needsI take pride in creating an environment where learners can have honest conversations about delicate and challenging subjects. These discussions, combined with practical training, help build confidence, resilience, and the skills to handle real-world scenarios safely and effectively.My key duties include:Running and developing the training department, from strategic planning to daily operations.Supporting both my own and my team’s professional development.Acting as an ambassador for the brand and building strong professional networks.Hosting training courses myself, setting the standard for delivery and engagement.Designing and tailoring curriculum to meet compliance requirements and client expectations.Maintaining quality assurance across all courses.Motivating my team and ensuring we deliver training that inspires as well as educates.A highlight of my career so far has been receiving Motivator of the Year 2024, an award that reflects not only my commitment to training but also to empowering others to succeed.I’m proud to play a part in raising standards, championing professional development, and ensuring staff leave our courses equipped to make a genuine difference in the lives of the people they support.
