As an accomplished multidisciplinary engineer with several years of experience across academia, industrial engineering, and management, I am passionate about leveraging technology to solve complex problems. With an MPhys undergraduate degree in condensed matter physics and a PhD in engineering, specializing in fundamental and applied condensed matter physics, I have established strong connections with scientific hardware manufacturers, leading to my appointment as systems engineer and technical manager at Moorfield Nanotechnology.My experience includes serving as an experimental officer at the National Graphene Institute, where I was primarily responsible for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of a multimillion pound UHV fabrication suite EVE. I also managed the compliance of the UHV fabrication line spend profiles and ensured signoff deadlines were met, while overseeing the 2D heterostructure facility’s annual budget and providing training for research teams. Additionally, as technical director of Henniker Scientific and Henniker Plasma, I managed a team of engineers supporting all company production and manufacturing, prioritizing pastoral care for my team, recognizing the importance of providing critical support to help them achieve their personal goals and production targets.Currently, as engineering manager at Genvida, I am managing a small team of highly skilled nanofabrication engineers and developing next-generation graphene-enhanced single base pair DNA sequencing chips. I serve as the liaison between Genvida and our university collaborators, Innovate UK for Smart and BMC grants, and our accountant.I am dedicated to leveraging my skills and experience to drive innovation in the field of nanotechnology.
