About Thom Almeida
Head of the Circular Transformation of Industries (CTI) at the World Economic Forum. CTI accelerates the shift from a linear to a circular economy to drive competitiveness, resilience, and sustainability. CTI shapes the Forum\'s agenda on circularity and brings together public, private, and civil society leaders.Previously, I represented the European Union at the official G20 Youth Summit (Y20), which convenes leaders under the age of 30 to inform the G20 Presidency Agenda. As the EU delegate in 2022 for the Sustainable and Livable Planet track, I engaged in dialogues throughout the year, culminating in the Y20 Summit in Indonesia.Prior to the World Economic Forum, I was a consultant at a leading consumer insights and innovation strategy firm in London. In this role, I ran research and advisory projects for Fortune 500 companies across different sectors on \'future of x\' topics (e.g, future of work and skills, fintech trends, consumer attitudes to data privacy). My work featured in media such as BBC and Business Insider.Originally from the Netherlands, I started my career in government at The Hague Institute for Global Justice, a public policy think tank, and at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I hold a Master of Arts (M.A.) in International Relations and Philosophy from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland.
