ABOUT THOKOZILE CHANGUFU
There is an African proverb that says: “If you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far go together.” I believe this proverb directly applies to how we should address the climate crisis we are living in.During my time working with the Community Market for Conservation in Zambia, I experienced how access to financial capital is one of the greatest barriers hindering climate solutions. One example is how many smallholder farmers in Africa who are dependent on rainfed agriculture lack the capital to invest in irrigation as rainfall patterns become more inconsistent due to climate change. My mission is to help bridge the resource gap to foster climate resilience in the developing world.I problem-solve through making connections - I identify existing gaps, analyze data, build programing, create partnerships, and use impact storytelling to inspire support from diverse stakeholders.Although the news on the climate crisis can be gloomy, I remain hopeful. I am determined to connect ideas, people, and resources to help foster an environmentally just, life-giving future!
