About T. H. Lyda
I am a partner and Executive Committee Member at the law firm of Burns White LLC and concentrate my practice in railroad, products liability, toxic tort/environmental litigation, and regulatory compliance, as well as entertainment law.I handle litigation throughout the United States. I have defended claims of brain damage, pulmonary disease and various cancers due to alleged chemical exposure. I have served as National Counsel for two Class I railroads with respect to parts of their occupational illness dockets. I routinely handle grade crossing, FELA and trespasser litigation on behalf of Class 1 and short-line railroads across the Mid Atlantic states and am called upon to respond to catastrophic accident and toxic chemical release events for the same clients. I have also handled OSHA citation contests on a national level and have contested citations on behalf of clients in fatality and serious injury cases in the construction, retail, chemical, warehousing, and oil/gas industry, among others. I have also handled DEP/EPA violation contests, and I, along with the firm, am a preferred provider of such services to the National Association of Chemical Distributors.I have held offices in the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel and am a frequently invited speaker at national conferences.I have a strong commitment to my community and have served as a member of the Board of Directors for the American Cancer Society, organizing and involving myself in fundraising activities in the fight against cancer.
