RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Reviewed Piping Service Index (PSI) and coordinated with Process team for alignment on design requirements.2. Performed all calculation necessary for preparation of PMS as per ASME B31.3 for process and utility piping.3. Developed and maintained Piping Material Specifications (PMS), ensuring proper selection of materials and commodities per ASME, ASTM, API, and MSS-SP standards.4. Prepared Valve Data Sheets for various MOCs (SS-316/316L, SS-304/304L, CS, PVC) covering ball valves, butterfly valves, and GGC valves, ensuring durability and compliance with process conditions.5. Created datasheets for piping specialty items (strainers, sight glasses, steam traps, flame arrestors, flexible bellows) in collaboration with Process team for vendor RFQs.6. Coordinated with Procurement and Vendors for RFQs, TBAs, and technical clarifications, ensuring full compliance with specifications.7. Supported 3D modelling Team for each piping spec and resolving database-related queries with the 3D admin team.KEY ACHIEVEMENTS & IMPACT:• Plant Safety Assurance: Prevented use of uncertified flame arrestors by local vendors; secured client approval for certified flame arrestors, raising safety standards across projects.• Flame Arrestor Standardization: Authored the company’s first engineering standard for end-of-line flame arrestors, reducing procurement delays and ensuring consistent compliance; achieved ~30% reduction in rework.• Ozone Service Risk Mitigation: Identified critical safety gap in ozone line design; recommended bellows-seal valves to prevent leaks, eliminating a major hazard and improving plant safety.• Cost Savings: Corrected significant BOQ errors caused by wrong descriptions/software issues, preventing unnecessary procurement and ensuring accurate material control.• Recognition: Awarded a Spot Award for outstanding problem-solving in piping material engineering, ensuring compliance, avoiding delays, and enhancing process safety.
