Thierry Perrein is a Managing Director and corporate credit analyst primarily covering REITs and Nonbank Financials for Mizuho, having joined the firm in August 2024. Mr. Perrein brings more than two decades of investment banking experience, having most recently worked at Stifel where he was a Managing Director covering the IG Financials and REITs sectors. Previously, he was a Managing Director at Wells Fargo Securities where he served as the firm’s leading authority on research and analysis of REITs and commercial real estate companies. Prior to this role, he was a Managing Director in the real estate investment banking division at Credit Suisse, where he also served as Senior Analyst/Head of Financials in high-grade fixed income research. Mr. Perrein has been a top-ranked analyst in the Institutional Investor All-star Fixed Income Analyst Team for over 20 years, voted “first team” for REITs for 16 years. He was ranked in Institutional Investor’s annual survey in 2023 including REITs (#2), Nonbank Financials (#2), Insurance (#3) and Banks (#3). Before joining DLJ (now Credit Suisse), Mr. Perrein spent eight years at Moody’s Investor Service as the lead analyst for REITs and other commercial real estate firms. He pioneered the global standard for the REIT capital structure that led to the successful development of the REIT unsecured institutional bond market.
