ABOUT MEINALD T. THIELSCH
My research focuses on three areas: 1. Work and leadership in high-risk environments2. User experience in human-technology interaction3. Civil security: preparedness and resilience in a changing environmentThe research of my group at the University of Wuppertal is thus characterized by its focus on researching highly relevant topics, for example work in high-risk areas, digitalization or the consequences of crises and climate change. This is based on the belief that we cannot meet the current challenges and changes in work and society only reactively through specialist personnel. Dealing with stress and crisis situations in particular should be approached proactively by all of us - individually and at the level of teams, managers and organizations - to strengthen our own resilience and ability to act. My research focuses on both sides, reactive and proactive action. In teaching, the Chair of Work and Environmental Psychology is active in the fields of work and organizational psychology, environmental psychology and human-technology interaction.
