ABOUT THIBAULT J.
I am an Entrepreneur, CTO, CPO, UX Researcher, Interaction designer and Design & Computing Teacher with a deep interest in intelligent interfaces. But I am also a company governance specialist in self-management, self-governance, and the sharing of power and property within companies. After graduating from the University of Portsmouth (UK) in 2003, I deepened my knowledge of computing, especially Artificial Intelligence, at Université Paris VI Pierre & Marie Curie. Then, I began working as an Interaction designer for a wide range of clients, trying to determine the best ways to produce attractive user interfaces with efficient yet ethical ergonomics across a range of products. I founded the Sqwer digital product studio (initially Square Glasses), offering a wide range of expertise in digital products, including UX research, Interaction/UX design, UI visual design, and web programming, for key accounts, start-ups, and scale-ups.I also gave lectures at École des Gobelins between 2006 and 2009 for postgraduate students in Creative Media, Interaction Design, Motion Design, OOP, Databases, and Project Management, and in 2025 at IAE School of Management Lyon in Interaction Design for decision-support management.Between 2007 and 2011, I studied Psychology. In 2019, it helped me combine my Design and Computing skills with Psychology in a postgraduate research degree at the University of Kent. HCI and AI are my core research domains, with a serious focus on AI ethics, trust, and Social Perception of AI. I conducted this research at Mon Petit Placement, the fintech startup I co-founded in 2017 with Thomas Perret. I exited Mon Petit Placement in July 2025 after selling it to Malakoff Humanis. I am now creating new companies. First, Paradigmatic is a research, design, and consulting company that helps startups and small companies switch to self-management systems, with a special focus on sharing power and property. The second one, Glitch Matters, is a startup studio in creative technologies that funds several craft and art companies, such as Post Industrial Craft and Allow in Saint-Étienne. I am also co-founding a French group promoting Steward Ownership in Western Europe.Specialities: Human-Computer Interaction, Human-Centred Design, Interaction Design, User Experience, Artificial Intelligence, AI Ethics, Trust in Automation, Social Perception of AI, Self Management, Trust in Management, Startup Studios, Startup funding, Steward Ownership, Shared Ownership, Governance.
