ABOUT THIAGO ALVES

As Socrates once said, “The unexamined life is not worth living.” I’ve always been drawn to the intersection of people, purpose, and possibility. Whether through research, storytelling, or leadership, I’m driven by a central question: how can we use what we know to build more informed, ethical, and inclusive communities?At Seton Hall, I’ve turned that question into action. As President of Adelante, the university’s first and largest Latino organization, I serve as the primary liaison to university leadership, alumni, and external partners. I oversee operations, programming, budgeting, and compliance, while shaping initiatives that promote cultural pride, community empowerment, academic excellence, and professional growth. Previously, as Public Relations Chair, I led a strategic overhaul of our communications, launching digital campaigns that earned over impressions and university-wide recognition. In parallel, I serve as Director of Marketing for ALPFA Seton Hall, leading branding, promotion, and digital storytelling to boost visibility, member engagement, and cross-campus outreach.As a member of the University Honors Program and the Buccino Leadership Institute, I pursue interdisciplinary learning while refining my skills in critical thinking, collaboration, and strategic foresight. Through Buccino, I co-founded the Buccino Robotics Network, a platform exploring the applications and implications of emerging technologies. There, I led the design and launch of Plan 2050, a forward-looking roadmap that translates complex tech trends into actionable strategies for policymakers, industry leaders, and educators. I also serve as a Resident Assistant in the Freshman-Year Area, supporting a community of approximately 500 students through their transition into university life.Outside of my work, you’ll likely find me in a coffee shop trying something new, deep in a book, or somewhere in the world discovering cultures. I lead with intention, listen with empathy, and never stop asking questions.
