About Mehmet Akkurt
I am driven by the challenge of finding new scenarios that combine technical feasibility, fun, and market viability. For the past couple years, I\'ve been focused on identifying, prototyping and helping the team architect the next set of opportunities for Xbox. It\'s been an interesting journey to get to today. I\'ve historically worked in very high scale Distributed Systems problems. I owned the aggregation and storage services for a Windows and Xbox scale real-time telemetry platform and built a lot of the Game Media Services that Xbox uses today as part of amazing teams. In the past 8 years, I\'ve transitioned into an Architect role, solving difficult technical problems for across Xbox. I\'ve learned how the Xbox business operates reporting to several business leaders, and had the chance to look at our portfolio of assets, business needs and technical viability in a holistic lens. My current job is to apply those skillsets to the new frontier of Generative AI to unlock new Xbox platform experiences.
