About Rob Paterson
I’ve spent 30 years in the hotel industry across 6 countries and 4 continents, building a career rooted in revenue management and commercial strategy. I started at the coalface and worked through to CEO of one of Great Britain’s largest hotel brands, leading through growth, downturns, and everything in between. My focus has always been on how to drive performance through strategy and not hope or market conditions. In 2021, I relocated to the US and shifted into advisory work, supporting hospitality and technology businesses on commercial strategy. Alongside that, I built a number of entrepreneurial ventures while speaking on stage professionally. As of recently, I\'m Managing Director, USA at UpsellGuru. While most hotels are good at optimizing their pricing, many overlook maximizing the business they already have- Guests willing to pay for a better room- Guests open to buy other things in the hotel- Moments in the stay that go untouched When those moments are handled well (not always by tech btw), the impact is immediate. But when they’re missed, no one notices and it adds up. That’s the space I’m in now; helping hoteliers capture revenue they’re already sitting on in a way that works for both the guest and the team. It\'s something I was obsessed with during my career in hotels and had a lot of success with. Now I want to share that success with others.
