As the President and Creative Director of Houston-based Electric Karma International, Therese Cole-Hubbs is considered one of the nation’s leading event planning and coordinating experts for multi-cultural weddings.A 27-year veteran of the events industry Ms. Cole-Hubbs formed Electric Karma, a division of her company ASC Event Services, in 2010 in response to the demand for wedding planners who could merge cultural traditions with contemporary wedding elements.In less than two years, Electric Karma’s business has flourished with Ms. Cole-Hubbs producing more than 600 Indian weddings and subsequently opening associate offices in New York, Los Angeles, Ohio and India.Ms. Cole-Hubbs’s amazing ability to blend traditional customs and rituals with original cutting- edge ideas while bringing world class quality, service and style to her events recently garnered the attention of David Tutera. In March 2012 she appeared on Mr. Tutera’s popular WeTV series, “My Fair Wedding With David Tutera,” as one of the experts featured in an Asian fusion episode.As her popularity continues to grow, Ms. Cole-Hubbs has been honored with several prestigious awards. Most notably, Event Solutions Magazine, the premier event industry publication, named her one of the Top Wedding Innovators for 2011. In the spring of 2012, Ms. Cole-Hubbs and the Electric Karma team joined a select group of recipients to receive a Pinnacle Award from the Better Business Bureau’s Education Foundation for metropolitan Houston at their annual Awards for Excellence ceremony honoring accredited businesses and charities that maintain a superior commitment to ethics, overall excellence and quality in the workplace.
