I am a Nurse and Healthcare Educator and Trainer who develops real-life, holistic curricula and exercises that promote staff development and growth at all levels. I believe that patient outcomes are improved when a healthcare professional is trained consistently and thoroughly using Evidence-Based practice and techniques, frequent assessment, and personalized instruction. I have been recognized for creating positive, student- and healthcare professional-focused learning environments relevant and promote problem-solving and critical thinking.

1. Training and Professional Development Specialist- Radiology Department

   Kaiser Permanente

   Apr 2018 — Present

   I currently serve as the Interprofessional Educator for the Radiology and Interventional Radiology Departments at Kaiser Permanente. My chief function in this role is to oversee the educational activities of these departments. For example, I designed implemented, lead and evaluated the Interprofessional education program using Mentorship and TeamSTEPPS principles for 34 Radiology and Interventional Radiology Departments throughout region with roughly 500 staff participating, including nursing staff. I also serve as the TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer, Radiology Clinical Coordinator, KPMAS Radiology Student Placement Coordinator, and am a Member of the region-wide Nursing Research & Evidence-Based Practice Council.I collaborate extensively with Managers, Modality Managers, Mammography Coordinators and Directors to plan, implement, promote, schedule, coordinate, evaluate, and document training. To foster the growth and advancement of staff, I collaborate with department directors and managers to develop Radiology and Nursing Review courses specifically designed to Kaiser Permanente healthcare professionals and Unit needs to increase clinical competency and/or roll-out new policies and procedures. I happily provide one-one-one coaching to staff as appropriate and follow-up with formal educational offerings.
