ACCESS coordinates all admissions into Behavioral Medicine services within the Bon Secours Virginia region Implemented a telepsychiatry program for acute psychiatric assessments for patients in emergency departments in order to reduce length of stay and provide appropriate disposition. Directs activities of Bon Secours Mobile Assessment Referral Team (BSMART) as a 365/24/7 portal of patient care to Bon Secours Richmond, coordinating services administered in 5 emergency departments to include clinical supervision, scheduling, payroll and staff education. Have strengthened BSMART services and improved relationships within the Bon Secours emergency departments by actively collaborating with Medical Directors. Directly involved in the development and implementation of the Hanover Crisis Intervention Center located at MRMC. Was approached by Hanover CSB at a Hanover Cross Mapping Committee Meeting in 2013 regarding the partnership with Bon Secours Richmond. This is now a fully functioning Crisis Receiving Center funded by the DBHDS. Partnered with St. Mary’s Emergency Room Medical Director and Psychiatric Inpatient Medical Director to form an ED Throughput Committee to improve patient flow from the emergency department to the behavioral health units. Oversaw behavioral health tele psychiatry pilot, which began in 2013, including development of the Tele Psychiatry Policy. Strengthened and maintained positive relationships with Community Service Boards, as well as private and state hospitals
