Liminality Partners is an advising practice that helps families with exceptional means give with joy so that they may create greater impact. We do this by helping families in three primary ways- First, we help families clarify why they want to give. We find that when families can articulate this, everything else becomes much easier- Second, we help families remove the barriers to giving. This includes helping families develop strategies for giving, understanding the landscape that they seek to support, conducting diligence, developing grantmaking processes and tools, and providing support for grants management- Third, we help families manage the governance related to their giving. This includes family governance that spans generations, governance that has interplay with family businesses, and/or governance among and across complex family assets. We work closely with families, getting to know each of the members of the family well. We also work seamlessly with the families\' other advisors, including staff at a family office, financial advisors, attorneys, and accountants. We are capable generalists and, from time to time, bring in experts to work with us when a family wants to go deeper on a particular issue than we have the capacity to do on our own. While we do take on projects from time to time, most of the work that we do is in partnership with families over years and decades.
