ABOUT THERESA BIZOE
I am currently the Director of Philanthropy and Capital Projects at First Step-The Western Wayne County Project on Domestic and Sexual Violence. I\'m a social worker/community activist and have been working with First Step since 1983 when I started volunteering at the First Step shelter as a student intern. I have had the honor of serving many roles at First Step, both volunteer and professional (Board President, Crisis Line worker, resident manager, children\'s program volunteer, fundraising volunteer). I also worked as a fundraiser, membership, program staff/camp director,supervisor for the Boy Scouts and the Girl Scouts (Associate Director) for many years and worked as a Major Gifts officer for a hospital foundation. I have 34 years experience working in the field of non-profit organizations and in the area of domestic violence. In my current role I am responsible for community awareness, public relations, special events, annual appeals, capital campaign and major gifts fundraising.
