ABOUT THEOPHILUS KATAZA
I am a Structural Engineer with three years of experience in structural design, analysis, and construction documentation across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. I have worked on projects including the 600MW Hwange Power Station expansion in Zimbabwe, assisting with structural analysis, design documentation, project planning, risk mitigation, and construction monitoring.As a Graduate Trainee Structural Engineer at Design and Construct Pvt Ltd, I designed and analyzed reinforced concrete and steel structures (portal frames, staircases, water tanks, slabs) using ETABS and Eurocode standards, developed steel connections, prepared fabrication drawings in AutoCAD and Revit, and conducted site inspections. I also coordinated multidisciplinary models using Revit for design consistency.I am proficient in ETABS, Tekla, ANSYS, RAM connections, and Microsoft Office for structural modeling, analysis, and documentation. I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Civil Engineering at Florida State University to deepen my expertise in advanced structural systems and construction-stage safety
