ABOUT THEO LICIETIS
I am currently studying Procurement through my higher apprenticeship at Rolls-Royce which I started in September of 2022. I have completed my first placement in Group Business Services (GBS) which was crucial for building confidence on the software used within procurement and the business as a whole, as well as developing my skills as a team player and leader through the management of NPI projects. Alongside my placement within GBS I have been completing a second placement in Engine Overhaul Services (EOS), this was managed through a 50-50 split between the two placements. I will be staying within this placement until the end of 2023, allowing me to develop my knowledge on this side of the business. Prior to my current apprenticeship I completed A-levels at the JCB Academy Sixth form, I studied a BTEC diploma in Engineering which was mostly essay based allowing me to become competent in converting information and managing my workload. I also studied Product design which was a half course work, half practical subject, a subject which I greatly enjoyed and continue to use through projects out side of my apprenticeship repairing bike engines/mechanics. My first experience of Rolls-Royce however started in 2018 when I applied for the Youth Apprenticeship Scheme at Rolls-Royce. This is a programme which allows young people to gain an insight into engineering from an early stage into their career, the experience gained from this is something which motivated me to come back to Rolls-Royce having seen the amazing opportunities and support available! As I progress through my apprenticeship I have challenged myself to gain as much knowledge as possible not just within the subject I am studying but the business as a whole. I am a huge advocate for networking as I believe it is the best way to broaden your knowledge, share best practice and identify room for improvement within the business.
