I am currently a lead (and IC) on Gemini [0], Google DeepMind\'s next-generation foundation model. Previously I was a lead (and IC) working on large model training infrastructure for general use at DeepMind. I directly contributed to and am a named author on all of DeepMind\'s major LLM publications, including Gopher [1], Retrieval [1] and Chinchilla [2]. Historically I was the TL for TensorFlow at DeepMind and later shifted the company to JAX. I managed engineering teams including DeepMind\'s TensorFlow, JAX and GPU compiler teams.
