About Nitesh Chauhan

Hey! My name is Nitesh Chauhan, pursuing Statistics (Hons.) and Economics at Ramjas College, University of Delhi. For the first 17 years of my life, I have been a studious kid (nerd) with public speaking and dramatics as extracurriculars. I started experimenting with myself when I got into Ramjas. I joined all the college societies from Consulting and Finance to Enactus. I learnt a lot from creating content, designing social media posts, editing videos, cold outreach to mentoring and leading a team. I developed a hardcore inclination towards consulting, corporate finance, business analytics and strategy. I participated in tons of case competitions from domains of finance, consulting, product, strategy and marketing and cracked many (15+) of them. You play a game to be free from it and therefore I decided it was time for real world experience and started to look for hard problems in the real world. I have worked at Urban Company as a strategy intern strategizing on a new product business and managing end-to-end operations. Apart from this, I also got an opportunity to work at Frontrow and contribute to the development of MVP for cohort based classes. Seekho gave me an opportunity to understand building and scaling a community around a product. I also had an opportunity to work with Finshots in the marketing department and understand the nitty-gritties of running a successful content business. After the experience of working with startups across domains, I had an opportunity to niche down to Finance with DE Shaw. I worked as a Financial Research intern and conducted extensive research on the concept of ESG to understand its impact on valuation of a firm (cashflows, cost of capital and tail-risk). I also analysed the impact of ESG on the rate of returns of funds historically and during the Covid-19 and Russia-Ukraine crisis. I am deeply interested in startups, finance, business models, and management and try to write at their intersection. You will always find me building and solving the problems around.
