WORK HISTORY
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Consultant @Coalition For Headache & Migraine Patients
Co-authored the Issue Brief on Disparities in Headache, which includes an overview of existing data on what is known about disparities in headache care; identifies questions and areas that need more research; sought out case studies, and explores strategies that have proven to be effective in other disease areas to overcome health disparities; and developed an initial roadmap for progress in eliminating health disparities in headache medicine and greater inclusion in the headache patient community. The Disparities in Headache Advisory Council (DiHAC) was born from the need to address the inequities and systemic racism of the American healthcare system. DiHAC served as a cross-functional group of patient advocacy organization leaders, BIPOC headache patients, and healthcare providers. As a co-leader, I was tasked with identifying and supporting solutions to racial health disparities in headache medicineas well as diversifying the engaged headache patient community.

ABOUT JAIME MICHELE SANDERS
I am a patient opinion leader and chronic illness warrior. I fight my disease and conditions daily and I fight to remove the stigmas from mental illness and migraine disease. I use my pain to empower others who share this life of chronic illness. I hope that through my words, the world will become better educated and less judgemental and most importantly accepting of our pain.
