ABOUT THEKLA OECHTERING
Dr. Thekla H. Oechtering, MD, is a radiologist and Assistant Professor on tenure track in the Cardiovascular Imaging section at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She studied Medicine in Luebeck, Germany, where she also completed her residency with Joerg Barkhausen. In Luebeck, she is heading the research group “cardiovascular MRI”. Her research focus lies in postsurgical aortic and portal hemodynamics, and validation of 4D Flow MRI. She completed her cardiothoracic imaging fellowship at the University of Wisconsin. She is a Junior Fellow of the ISMRM, Secretary of the Flow and Motion Study Group of ISMRM, and a member of the board of the Cardiovascular Study Group of the German Roentgen Society. She was awarded the Albers-Schoenberg Medal of the German Roentgen Society in recognition of her long-standing commitment to young radiologists and the establishment of the young radiologists\' organization Young Radiology Forum.
