I’ve spent 20+ years helping companies get their financial house in order—and I’ve built (and exited) one of my own along the way. Today as a Corporate Controller, I direct financial operations across 14 subsidiaries with $25M+ in assets under management. I report to the CFO and CEO, lead a team of five, and serve 80+ active PE investors. My work spans everything from securing a $1.7MM refinance that cut interest rates by 1.5%, to deploying AI tools that save in recurring costs, to building five-year financial models that power strategic financial decisions. Before this role, I spent 12 years as a Fractional CFO & Controller, working with companies in healthcare, SaaS, construction, manufacturing, CPG, and professional services. Across those engagements, I helped secure $150MM in commercial lending and $100MM in private equity relationships, saved clients an average of $150K annually, and cut month-end close by 10 days. I’ve led ERP implementations across NetSuite, Sage, and QuickBooks Enterprise, and built internal controls across P2P, OTC, and treasury functions. I also founded BeeSmart Social Media, a digital marketing agency I grew from zero to a successful six-figure exit. Clients included Crayola, the California Department of Transportation, and the City of Charlotte. In 2024, I published Burned: How Business Owners Can Overcome Burnout and Fuel Success (Matt Holt Books / BenBella). It’s the book I wish I’d had when I was running my own company. What drives me: solving complex financial puzzles, building teams that span generations (Baby Boomers to Gen Z), and finding ways to make finance work smarter—whether through automation, AI, or a well-timed renegotiation.
