Responsible for the administrative, policy-development, and limited quasi-judicial decisions for Island County government in partnership with two other equally elected Commissioners. Much of my last 11 years have been focused on Behavioral Health Integration and establishing relationships at the local and state level to monitor the transition from county-run behavioral health programs to a managed care system; including understanding the impacts these changes present to Counties. I have worked closely with managed care organisations to understand what they need for financial success and network adequacy, the Healthcare Authority to ascertain their goals for Medicaid Transformation, and on behalf of 39 Washington Counties to ensure that proposed changes don\'t adversely effect the consumers or community. Additional Roles and Responsibilities include- Administration of a 480+ person staff and $132 million budget- Policy setting and oversight of a public process to ensure transparency and citizen input- Goal setting, strategic planning and project management- Consensus building- Budget development and adherence- Community relations and external communications- Membership on a variety of other public organizations Board of Directors including; IC Board of Health Regional Transportation Policy Board Accountable Communities of Health North Sound Behavioral Health /.
