First-gen student at Yale pursuing a B.A. in Political Science and Ethnicity, Race, and Migration with a certificate in Human Rights through the Jackson School of Global Affairs. Current visiting student at Lady Margaret Hall, University of Oxford.I am an interdisciplinary learner dedicated to the public interest. My interests lie at the intersection of critical border studies, comparative immigration policy, and international security politics, attending to how the law, borders, and state-sanctioned practices of immigration enforcement shape global perceptions of immigrants, refugees, and asylum-seekers today.As a Gates Scholar, QuestBridge Scholar, and HSF scholar, I bring a unique blend of academic excellence, resilience, and a deeply personal commitment to the issues I study. My scholarship is informed not only by my upbringing in the largest binational metropolitan centers in the world, the San Diego-Tijuana borderlands, but also as the son of immigrant parents.
