About Ayush Anand
I am a software engineer with a passion around databases and networks. I love building to solve real-world challenges. Golang and Python are two of my friends whom I use to do crazy experiments over weekends. I am actively contributing to the open-source community, and help maintain two scientific Python packages, other than the several commits and patches I routinely push.Previously, I worked at DB News, where I led a 20% increase in user subscriptions by developing a high-performance news streaming platform with sub-300ms latency and enhanced Postgres database operations.One of my weekend experiements includes crazyhttp, an asynchronous HTTP/3 (HTTP over QUIC) server library I build using Go. I developed this library for folks to spin an HTTP server super quickly with native Linux primitives that accelerate performance. This project achieved nearly 48x faster startup times and improved p90 request times by 41.54% compared to FastAPI.As a Google Summer of Code 2022 student with IOOS, I developed \"pyobis,\" an open ocean-data Python package, making it easier for marine researchers to map global biogeographic changes. My work reduced analysis time by over 70%, streamlined code efficiency by 50%, and enhanced overall performance.When not coding, you can find me reading about climate change or playing badminton.
