ABOUT MICHAEL MIKE THÉARD

Michael serves as Chief of Staff National Coalition of Black Veteran Organizations. He is Secretary of his Greater Washington DC Chapter, an 82nd ABN and famed Parachute Infantry Regiment “Triple Nickels” Associations (life member). With the Buffalo Soldiers, Michael shares the Buffalo Soldiers’ legacy while helping children prepare for and access quality of life sustaining career ladders. US Army Master Sergeant Retired (MSG(R)), Michael Theard served 23 years in varying leadership roles as an Infantryman and ultimately with the US Army Signal CORPS. His duty assignments included B Company, 3/325th Infantry, 82nd ABN Division, Fort Bragg, NC; 3rd Infantry Division, Division Data Center, Larson Barracks, Kitzingen, GE; HQ HHC, Electronic Proving Grounds, Fort Huachuca, AZ; VII Corps, 2nd Support Command, Nellingen Barracks, Stuttgart, GE; Defense Intelligence Agency, Bolling AFB; Intelligence Support Detachment, 501 MI Brigade, Taegu, South Korea; Department of Army Management Intelligence – Pentagon; Information Systems Command – Pentagon; Allied Forces Central Europe, Brunsum, The Netherlands, and Command Control & Support Agency, Pentagon. During military service, MSG(R) Theard earned a Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal (2nd Award), Meritorious Service Medal (2nd Award), Army Commendation Medal (2nd Award), Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), NATO Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, and Noncommissioned Officer\'s Professional Development Ribbon (USAF Senior NCO Academy (NCOES Level 4)). Michael Theard (Mike) retired from the professional services industry after more than 40-years’, with seventeen years as a managing partner of the Arrington, VA based, Veteran-Owned consulting firm, RSDCGROUP, LLC. His areas of expertise included systems management, facility operations, program and portfolio management, strategic planning, custom software development, and government contracting. He wore multiple hats, e.g, Chief Operations Officer, Facility Security Officer, Acting Center Director, and Director Human Capital. Mike earned a MS Information Technology, University of Maryland University College (UMUC), a BS Management Computer-Based Information Systems, Park University, and AS General Studies, Central Texas College. He also earned a Federal Chief Information Officer Certification, from the General Services Administration and UMUG campus. Mike studied International Relations at Troy State University; he is a PMI and AFCEA life member.
