ABOUT AKHIL K.

I work in logistics with customers, owning the gap between legacy systems and how work actually gets done.At DHL Express, I partner closely with customers to design and implement logistics solutions under real operational constraints. I often own the handoff between what’s sold, what’s implemented, and what actually works in practice. When those handoffs fail, the cost shows up in missed shipments, broken trust, and manual workarounds, so I focus on surfacing recurring friction and turning it into durable solutions that should inform better systems and product decisions. Before moving into a commercial role, I spent two years as the primary IT technical lead for DHL’s Western Canada region. I led infrastructure rollouts, built automation tools and dashboards, and supported mission-critical warehouse systems where uptime and clarity mattered more than elegance. That experience shaped how I think about systems, trade-offs, and cross-functional execution.Earlier, I led a 20-person team at UBC’s largest student-run service, overseeing operations, budgeting, and hiring while delivering tangible safety outcomes for the campus community. Across roles, I’ve consistently gravitated toward environments where complexity, ownership, and consequences are real.I’m especially interested in technology that improves human and operational experience when it’s grounded in how work actually happens. I thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments and learn fastest by being close to the problem.
