ABOUT NICO LUPPINO
I graduated with a Master’s degree in Forensic Linguistics, a new field that provides insight for legal and insurance investigations into criminal activity, fraud, security threat assessments, and civil trademark protection cases. During the Spring 2018 semester, I interned with Robert Leonard Associates, where my assignments involved linguistic analysis of mega-data that include false confessions, authorship analyses, threat assessments, fraud investigations, determinations of complicity, and suspects’ comprehension of Miranda rights.My prior experiences include drafting letters and documents to clients and government agencies, enabling qualified international applicants to emigrate to the United States and being an expert witness in a mock courtroom engaging 3L law students in linguist testimony. Furthermore, I engaged in fact-finding research, interviewing, and writing on behalf of non-profit organizations. As an undergraduate, I collaborated on Mindfire, a portal named 2012 PR Product of the Year that enabled participants to work on projects for Fortune 500 companies that included FedEx, IKEA, Frito-Lay, Wendy’s, Hertz, Mattel, Nokia.Having worked closely with members of the Latin American media, and having attended campuses in Italy & Cuba as part of my minor in Global Studies and Latin America & Caribbean Studies, I am fluent in Spanish.
