About Shannon Simpson
From an early age, I was driven by a strong desire to make a meaningful impact on the world. My journey began in healthcare, where I served as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), gaining firsthand experience in high-pressure, life-saving environments. During this time, the birth of my daughter inspired me to return to college as a non-traditional student to pursue a new path.I earned a Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Engineering and joined General Electric through their prestigious Digital Technology Leadership Program (DTLP). Over the course of this two-year program, I received extensive technical and leadership training, which laid the foundation for my career in technology.Following the DTLP, I advanced to the role of Senior Software Engineer at GE Transportation, where I contributed to the development of innovative applications. I then transitioned into a leadership role as Senior Engineer of IT Operations, overseeing pillar applications at a company dedicated to designing software that powers global movement.Today, I serve as a Software Manager, where I lead cross-functional teams, drive strategic initiatives, and continue to build solutions that make a difference on a global scale.
