Hi,This is Gurleen Kaur, just another girl with small eyes and big dreams. You might know me as ‘Thatcurlyygal’.My Instagram journey started in 2013. At that time I used to use Instagram only as a platform through which I can share my life and my candid moments with my friends. It was a long time before I switched from being a regular Instagrammer to being ‘Thatcurlyygal’.So it started in 2018. I always wanted to do modelling and explore the field of glamour. But like any other brown household with a bit of conservative thinking, my parents too were a bit of apprehensive about me going into this field. But me being an adamant kid, I did not subside at all. I did a few ramp shows without their knowledge and won a title of “Miss Elegance” in Miss India Khadi 2018. That moment was a proud moment for my parents. After that I gained a lot of confidence in me and wanted to explore more opportunities in this field but couldn’t find any in my city. Just then my friends suggested me that I should enter the world of fashion blogging. They motivated me to post fashion and beauty related content and connect with a wide audience. It gave me hope to carry on with my passion. So I made my account public from private in 2018. And that’s how ‘Thatcurlyygal’ was born. Behind keeping this name, there was a strong hidden motivation inside me. I had always been called out names since my childhood for having curly hair. Yes, I used to get pissed off back then. But this time I tried to have a broad outlook and tried to see the positive side. I decided to make my curly hair my identity and be called as ‘Thatcurlyygal’.Till now I’ve made it to around 10k followers on Instagram and have shared 200 plus posts. You can find wide ranging content on my feed from the fields of fashion, lifestyle, beauty and styling. I also post branded content and promote the brands which I believe are actually authentic because I want to be completely honest with my followers. Apart from being a content creator, I work full time in immigration sector.
