There are three recurring themes throughout my career: leading in unique ambiguous environments, creating adventurous learning experiences, and translating ideas/businesses/products across cultures with authenticity and integrity.I am passionate about challenging youth through experiential education, creating authentic opportunities for leadership, and promoting civic engagement—especially at the local and state level.

Responsible for leading watch groups of 6-7 college students during 5-6 week voyages, which includes overseeing ship operations, safety, and the hands-on learning of the students. Have sailed as a Student, Deckhand/Asst. Engineer, 3rd Mate, 2nd Mate, and Chief Mate. This role is intermittent when shore life permits me to go to sea for weeks at a time.
