ABOUT THAIS COSTA TEIXEIRA VIANA

Thaís holds a Ph.D. in Law (UFMG), a Master of Laws (UFMG), and an LLB (UFMG). After earning her Ph.D, she was a Visiting Researcher at Yale Law School (20••••23). She received the \"2023 José Joaquim Calmon de Passos\" Award (ANNEP), recognizing the best Ph.D. dissertation on Procedural Law defended in the past year. Her research interests include class litigation, complex group disputes, public interest law, and policymaking.Passionate about legal education, student development, and legal research, Thaís has years of experience in university lecturing. Currently, she is a Guest Lecturer at the Postgraduate Programs of UFMG Law School. Thaís has held leadership positions in legal research related projects. She is currently the research manager of the project \"Group Rights and Class Litigation: Systemic and Structural Analysis\"(UFMG/CNPq). From 2020 to 2022, she led the Center for Conflict Resolution Studies (NESC) at Milton Campos Law School. While leading the activities of NESC, Thaís managed projects in three main practice groups: Arbitration | Litigation | Mediation and Negotiation. She also supervised the training of student members in preparing for national and regional competitions, leading the NESC-FDMC mediation team to a runner-up position as “Mediator” in CAMARB\'s twelfth annual national mediation competition.Thaís is a member of the Brazilian Institute of Procedural Law (IBDP), the Institute of Procedural Law (IDPro), and the Brazilian Association of Women in Procedural Law (ABEP).
