About Tess Carichner
Tess is a first year PhD student at the University of Michigan School of Nursing. She graduated in Spring of 2025 with her BSN, minors in Disability Studies and Global Health, as well as certificates in Leadership and Disability Inclusion and Accessible Design. Her studies focus on disability health equity, specifically sexual/reproductive health and safety in the neurodivergent community. Ultimately, Tess believes that the disability community deserves the opportunity to achieve their full potential and dreams, and that this starts with equitable health and wellness resources. Tess is a proud member of the Access in Nursing research team, Disabled Nurse National Solidarity Collective, and Digital Accessible Futures Lab. Living out her values in clincial practice, Tess works as a hospice nurse for Arbor Hospice, a state-wide non-profit hospice.
