ABOUT TERRY PRUNER

I am a professor, consultant, and lifelong advocate for making technology accessible, understandable, and useful for real people.Over the course of my career, I’ve worked in strategic planning, large-scale technology deployment, and organizational change, helping individuals and organizations adopt new systems with confidence rather than frustration. While much of my early work focused on complex technical environments, my focus over time has shifted toward the human side of technology and how people learn, adapt, and regain confidence as tools and systems continue to change.I am currently a Professor in The Business School at Centennial College, and CEO of The Training Department Inc, an education consulting and training company I founded in Across these roles, my work has consistently centred on clear communication, practical learning, and reducing fear around new technologies.I am also the author of Tech Savvy at Any Age, a practical guide created to help older adults and the families who support them to feel confident, safe, and connected in today’s digital world. The book reflects my belief that technology should support independence, dignity, and connection, rather than create anxiety or exclusion.I’m interested in opportunities related to teaching, training, speaking, and program development. In particular, workshops and my 5 part seminar series designed for older adults, caregivers, and community organizations focused on building digital confidence, safety, and independence. My work also includes thoughtful integration of emerging technologies and AI into education and everyday life.
