Veteran Law Enforcement Officer with over 35 yrs. experience in law enforcement, with a passionate focus on police-community relationships, particularly youth-oriented relationship building and development. In addition to street-level law enforcement experience, possesses exceptional skill and drive in curriculum development and the ability to present to wide varieties of audiences, including police, community, students, and school staff. EXPERIENCE:MAY 1989 - NOVEMBER 2008: Patrolman, Central Berks Regional PoliceHighly active street patrol officer. Provided the DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) curriculum for over ten years. Selected as the department\'s first School Resource Officer (SRO) from 20••••04, and trained at the Federal level via the \"Cops-in-Schools\" initiative. Responsible for ground-up development of the SRO position, role elements, and activity. Provided ongoing student education in a variety of areas including alcohol and tobacco use, self-esteem building, problem-solving, conflict resolution, drug abuse, internet safety, bullying, peer mediation, and others, using both established programs as well as by developing tailored curricula. Developed ongoing training with all school entities within the CBRPD jurisdiction with regard to active threat response and preparedness as a certified ALICE Instructor.
