ABOUT TERRY STANTON
Voluntary positions, supporting people with a disability. Living by the adage of ‘You don’t stop because you get old - you get old because you stop’. History Marine engineer, Merchant Navy; 10 years, travelling worldwide with Bibby Line. At 26 I joined North Wales Police. Final 10 years at a senior level, within command teams; in operational and strategic roles. Retired from the police in 2008, relocated to Cornwall. Joined Volunteer Cornwall. During 8 years with VC undertook various roles, including member of the senior management team, seconded to both D&C Police and Cornwall Council LD senior management team. Took some time out and in 2017, returning to work in the care sector with Brandon Trust. Really rewarding work. Sept 2020 finished with Brandon and semi-retired. October 2021 fully retired from paid work, but still doing voluntary work, with an emphasis on writing funding applications for organisations supporting people with a disability.
