President and Founder of Smith & Company Architects. A former Managing Principal with one of the nation’s largest architectural firms, he has served as Principal in Charge | Project Manager for a diverse range of projects. Terry has more than 30 years of experience in architectural planning and design and has designed in excess of $400 million dollars and is recipient of multiple design awards. Mr. Smith brings an expanded perspective to the table allowing him to understand the owners’ unique challenges and responsibilities. Having several education projects from renovation to ground up, Terryoffers the knowledge and experience to design a building that is functional, cost effective and pleasing to the client.His added experience has been obtained by serving as Vice President of Construction Services at one of the area’s largest universities. Within this capacity, he managed more than $150 million of design work. Mr. Smith’s ties to his professional and local community run deep. In addition, he has served as a board member for numerous professional and community organizations, and in 2008 his firm was recognized as one of the Houston Minority Business Council’s Emerging Ten, which recognizes companies thatmake significant contributions to their industry and community.
