Oversee Orange County, Florida’s $6 million+ annual investment in arts organizations for the benefit, enrichment and enjoyment of a diverse population of 1.3 million County residents and 75 million annual visitors. Commission local, domestic and international artists to create art for public buildings, serve as ambassador to the arts, connect people and resources to bring art and culture projects to fruition, initiate community-wide collaborative arts efforts. Investing in Art Organizations• Lead the Orange County Arts and Culture Advisory Council in developing guidelines and standard operating procedures to determine how and to whom funding is disbursed• Manage assigned personnel of United Arts of Central Florida, the leading organization representing and advocating for the arts community in the region, on operational and funding capacities, as well as adherence to compliance and grant funding requirements• Liaison with other government entities, committees and community organizations Commissioning of Public Art• Create selection panels with key stakeholders and art professionals for dedicated art initiatives and installations within Orange County, Florida• Issue international calls for art submissions• Facilitate the selection of artists and liaison with the capital improvement department to ensure the art is installed• Arrange educational lecture with the artist and activate community engagement within the art scene Serving as Ambassador of the Arts• Advocate for artists ensuring funding, psychological support and resources for them to excel within their respective industries• Encourage creativity, innovation and excellence • Represent the arts in other realms of the community, i.e. health, transportation, sustainability planning and other community resourcesFor more information, visit ocfl.net/arts
