ABOUT TERRY MCLOUGHLIN
I’m an Emergency Medicine Consultant with interests in clinical research and medico-legal reporting.I qualified from the University of Sheffield with BSc(hon) and MBChB before training in London and the North West of England whilst completing MRCEM and FRCEM. I also have an advanced diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I have had a continuous interest in clinical research throughout my medical career, contributing to various studies with a particular focus on head injuries, concussion, sepsis and rapid diagnostics. I completed the NIHR scholarship programme in 2021 and have since been appointed Trust Deputy Director of Clinical Research, LEDRUS Director and an Advanced NIHR Scholar. Furthermore I am the Principal Investigator on over a dozen international commercial clinical trials focused on early dementia.My other interests lie in sport having worked as a Doctor with professional sports teams and international events such as the Commonwealth Games & Rugby World Cup, education as a former Department Education lead plus RSM EM President, Trust appraiser and staff wellbeing Divisional lead having developed a programme to support frontline NHS staff. I have developed my role as a medico-legal expert focused on emergency care and all aspects of concussion. I’m always keen to connect with like minded people interested in Medicine
