ABOUT TERRY GRIST
I’ve had the pleasure of working across several different retail business, all with differing challenges, but all consistent in one area, which is that of focusing on the customer. During my time (over 25 years) I maintained my passion for knowledge and in doing so, helping customers through their journey. Engaging with the customer and understanding their needs enabled a positive experience that often resulted in repeat business and sales growth. Throughout my retail career as a manager, I developed skills such as managing tight profit and loss accounts, business accounts, implementation of (on occasions) large scale initiatives and people management at various levels. Many of these skills have enabled me to move away from the retail landscape and take up the challenge in a more business-to-business management role covering multiple industries with various work practices. In all cases, my business and commercial acumen has provided me with all the elements needed to succeed. I continue to develop my skills across new industries that have allowed me to not only implement various scale projects along with compliance to legislation where applicable whilst retaining my focus on customer experience that I value so much from my time in retail.
