About Terri Austin
Terri is an experienced executive offering proven quantifiable results in performance, productivity, and revenue. She has developed programs from conception to implementation including metrics and audited results. Her areas of expertise include legal, compliance, corporate policy, ethics, corporate social responsibility, diversity, human resources, and communications. Terri recently served as an adjunct professor at USC Annenberg teaching several classes including Advocacy Communications. Prior to that, she served as Chief Corporate Policy Officer for S&P Global where she was responsible for implementing and monitoring corporate policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with the highest industry standards. She previously served as Chief Diversity Officer where she developed an integrated diversity strategy across the businesses. Previously she served as Chief Compliance & Ethics Officer for AIG’s Domestic Insurance Operations, General Counsel for AIG’s Domestic Claims Operation, as an associate at Richards & O’Neil, and as an Assistant General Counsel for the New York City Law Department. Terri holds a Bachelor\'s degree in political science from Grinnell College, a Juris Doctorate from Columbia University School of Law, and a Master\'s degree from the Columbia School of Journalism. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Riverdale Country School and New Alternatives for Children, and previously served on multiple boards including Women’s Sports Foundation and Girls Inc. of NYC. She also served on the Policy Advisory Committee for Senator Kirsten Gillibrand during her 2020 campaign for President. Terri has received a number of honors for her work and community service including The Foundation for Judicial Friends Leaders in Law in 2013, The Network Journal’s 25 Influential Black Women in Business in 2008, Top Diversity Executive by Black Enterprise in 2011, and Girl Scouts Council of New York Woman of Distinction in 2010. She is a frequent speaker and panelist and has presented at the NYS Bar Association, the NYC Bar Association, Columbia University Paul Robeson Keynote, Temple University Keynote Series, and the NYC Mayor’s Office for Disability Keynote.
