About Terri Burke
The Immunization Partnership leads efforts across Texas to rebuild vaccine confidence and advance sound public health policies. Drawing on nearly 13 years as Executive Director of the ACLU of Texas, Terri Burke brings a wealth of experience in advocacy and nonprofit leadership. A key focus of our work at TIP involves partnering with community organizations, public health officials, and healthcare professionals to educate and empower vaccine advocates, driving positive health outcomes at both local and state levels. My career began in political reporting and evolved into senior editorial roles at news publications, including the Hartford (Ct.) Courant, Dallas Morning News, Austin American-Statesman, and Albuquerque Tribune. I led two newspaper staffs to Pulitzer Prizes and concluded my journalism career as Editor of the Abilene Reporter-News and group editor of Scripps Texas Newspapers. The years in journalism and nonprofit leadership have made me a keen observer of, and participant in, the Texas legislature and policymaking, and I am committed to fostering informed communities and driving meaningful change across
