As Deputy and currently Acting Environmental Director at NSA Portsmouth: • I provide oversight and strategic direction for several environmental compliance programs for a naval installation with approximately employees and a multi faceted mission set that includes facility sustainment, maintenance, and the revitalization of mission critical shipyard infrastructure. • Ensured adherence to environmental laws and regulations, minimizing operational impacts. • Managed a division of environmental professionals, that includes engineers and scientists, by assessing performance, mentoring, and providing strategic oversight. • Identified training needs for employees to enhance productivity and quality of work. • Projected future staffing needs by conducting workforce planning and hiring to fill critical vacancies. • Oversee NEPA compliance for large scale infrastructure projects, such as those within the Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program (SIOP). • Helped identify environmental requirements within large (>$10 million) MILCON projects, assist with developing SOW, and oversee contract task orders (CTO) that are critical paths for mission essential projects. • Actively participate in the PPBE process for several environmental programs by communicating program requirements as part of Navy’s POM cycle. • Participate in cross functional teams such as Senior Leadership Teams (SLTs), Executive Leadership Teams (ELTs), and Program Management Teams (PMTs). • Oversee Air Compliance and permitting for more than one Navy Annex.• Managed spill response efforts, including notifications to relevant agencies.
